Gran Canaria - Sat
We got picked up by the coach and drove along a zig-zagging road with a sheer drop of canyon on one side of us. We got to the camel safari park and saw some baby camels. Then we went down for our camel ride. Me and Mum were on each side of one camel and Dad went on another one with a Scottish man. The camels all walked along in a big procession. Dad's camel that was behind us kept wanting to rest it's head on my shoulder. We discovered the noise they make is the same as Dad when he gets the burps.
After that Mum and Dad had some papaya and mango juice. I told Dad off because he tried a hat on and was just going to keep it on and not pay for it. Then it was time for the camel show where if you wanted you could put a piece of bread in your mouth and this camel called Gustavo would take it off you, giving you a kiss. Mum had a go! She said it was just like kissing Dad.
We walked round the garden and Mum identified all the tropical plants for us. We saw passionfruit, orange, papaya, mint, pomegranate, banana, avocado, sugar cane.
Then it was time for lunch - a huge plate of chicken, Spanish sausage, potatoes with mojo sauce and salad. Served with sangria and rum. Dad was in heaven.
We got the coach back to the hotel. Dad wanted to go down the beach for a paper but I was a bit humpy (= hot + grumpy) so we had a rest instead.
We wandered down to the Yumbo centre, giving the big neon Sex Club sign a wide berth. Tried to stop Mum from indulging in her teatowel buying fetish but to no avail.
After dinner we watched a burlesque show. Dad enjoyed himself.
